Quebec wide receiver Hergy Mayala has signed a one-year contract with the British Columbia Lions.

The 30-year-old veteran was a free agent, having finished last season on the Vancouver club’s practice squad. He started this campaign with the Toronto Argonauts, but the Queen City team released him at the beginning of August.

Mayala caught just three balls for 40 yards in seven games with the Argos in 2025.

The Montrealer was selected by the Calgary Stampeders with the very first pick in the 2019 draft. He played his first two seasons in the CFL with this team, before wearing the colors of the Montreal Alouettes (2022-2023) and the Edmonton Elks (2024).

The University of Connecticut product has 68 career games on the Canadian circuit. He made 151 catches for 1,916 yards and 12 touchdowns.
