BarcelonaA person died this Sunday after being trapped by an avalanche while skiing off-piste in the Aragonese Pyrenees. The victim was practicing this sport off-piste at the Cerler ski resort when he was surprised by the snow.

According to sources from the Civil Guard of Huesca, it was the same ski resort staff that alerted the 112 d’Aragó at around 2 p.m. that two small avalanches had originated in a ravine in the area and that a person had been partially buried under the snow.

Staff from the ski resort and members of the Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (Greim) of Benasc have been dispatched to the scene of the incident and have rescued the unconscious victim. Finally, however, he ended up losing his life.
