PSV Strikers: Latest News & Updates – Rik Elfrink

Rik Elfrink gives in Eindhovens Dagblad an update on the situation of the PSV strikers. According to the journalist, one player seems to be on his way to the exit.

Myron Boadu will remain out of the picture at PSV for the time being. The 24-year-old striker has had successful surgery on his knee and will therefore have to recuperate for at least six to eight weeks. This means that a return will only be in sight in mid-March or April, PSV announced on Tuesday.

The people of Eindhoven also do not want to cooperate in the departure of Ricardo Pepi. PSV, which is still active on several fronts, made it clear soon after receiving Fulham’s offer of 30 million euros that it did not want to cooperate in the American’s departure.

However, PSV can soon expect a new offer for Ricardo Pepi, The Athletic reported on Tuesday evening. It is not stated which offer PSV would be willing to accept. Journalist Elfrink only knows that an amount of 30-35 million euros is ‘by far’ not sufficient.

Summer signing Alassane Pléa is not yet fit. “He will be absent for the time being, but there is some hope that he can return to competitions during March. Whether that scenario actually occurs depends on the final phase of his rehabilitation and in addition, no setbacks should occur.”

Meanwhile, Young PSV striker Robin van Duiven seems to be on his way to the exit. “Van Duiven is Jong PSV’s top scorer and one of the most dangerous finishers in the second level in the Netherlands, but is still waiting for his debut in the first team. A place at the PSV 1 training camp in Spain also seems out of the question, unless something changes at the last minute.”

“There is a lot of interest in Van Duiven from other clubs, both at home and abroad. In Spain, Real Valladolid is specifically interested, as it became clear earlier. In our country, many clubs also follow the goalscorer’s activities, with Heracles Almelo, for example, still able to strike. Trainer and manager Ernest Faber is the former head of training at PSV and knows what he could get from Van Duiven,” writes Elfrink.
