Bosz is thinking about a new striker for PSV: ‘But only if he is really suitable’
After Ricardo Pepi’s injury, PSV will only enter the transfer market for a new striker if it is an immediate reinforcement, PSV coach Peter Bosz said on Tuesday afternoon.
All three strikers of the Premier League leader are currently injured. Pepi will probably be out of action until mid-March with a broken forearm. Myron Boadu is expected back in mid-February after a knee injury. Alassane Pléa tore his cruciate ligament. The Frenchman is now training lightly again and hopes to be back on the field before the end of the season.

“We could have used Pepi well in the coming weeks with the many matches,” Bosz said on Tuesday in the run-up to the cup match against FC Den Bosch on Wednesday evening (6.45 pm).
‘You could think about renting’
There are more flavors for the striker position in the PSV selection. Midfielders Guus Til and Ismaël Saibari and wing attacker Ivan Perisic have also been there this season. However, a temporary reinforcement is being considered.
“But we will only do that if we can really find something that is suitable. That person must be able to handle the level of PSV and be an added value. We are not going to get a striker because then we can say that we have an extra player.”
According to Bosz, a possible new striker should be there immediately. “Then you could think about renting. It has to be really quality.”
None Of Pigeons
PSV striker Robin van Duiven does not yet appear to attribute those qualities. The 19-year-old attacker has already scored fourteen goals for Jong PSV in the first division this season. He will leave for the Spanish Real Valladolid on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Van Duiven is not in the selection against Den Bosch, Bosz said.
Own future Bosz
In addition to all the questions about the striker position, Bosz was also asked about his own future. It is still not clear whether the trainer will extend his expiring contract in Eindhoven. His name has been mentioned for some time as a possible successor to Ronald Koeman, should he leave as national coach after next summer’s World Cup.
“I’ve been out of it for a long time,” Bosz revealed. “If news comes out about it, you will hear about it.”
