It is this evening that the first leg of a Play-off will be shortened, unlike its predecessors. Headlined by the titanic clash between the Union Sportive Monastirienne and the African Club at the architectural stakes, leadership in this case. As for the two other potential candidates for the Super play-off, Jeunesse Sportive Kairouanaise and Etoile Sportive du Sahel, in their bid to obtain the best possible ranking, they should obtain satisfaction, quite conveniently for Chabiba against Jeunesse Sportive d’El Manazeh, more or less uneasily for the Red Brigades in Nabeul.
The test of truth between the two big guys of our orange ball, here we are, and for the delight of the purists and for the relentless emulation which particularizes them in their appetite to win the jackpot of leadership which allows its holder to benefit from the advantage of the floor throughout the Super play-off, particularly in the event of a decisive match, commonly known as “beautiful”. We might as well certify that the result for the two belligerents is of immeasurable importance. With this in mind, the Monastirians, just one length behind, will strive to make up for it by coming back to the level of their eminent competitor and why not overtake him for the benefit of the lead point. On the other hand, the Club players will be all the more spurred on by winning the game as they know full well that two points ahead, in the event of a victory of course, may prove irretrievable in the perspective of leadership at the end of this exciting Play-off, especially since they will have the irreducible bonus of receiving, for the return phase, their main antagonists, the JSK, the ESS and the USM in their pipe-breaking den of Gorjani. In Nabeul, the Potters are practically showing their last card in their mad hope of being part of the last four aces which will take place in the confines of the Super play-off. Two lengths behind their antagonist of the day, the protégés of the Portuguese Vasco Curado will return to a single unit in the event of victory, while hoping for a favorable combination of circumstances for the remainder of the course. Conversely, the Stars will strive to seal the fate of the match in their favor, which would offer them a pyramid hiatus of 3 points which will ensure their access to the semi-finals of the Championship without firing a shot. As for the JSK, while taking care not to go about it rashly, it has free rein to return to reason a JSM enthusiastic as it could be but not yet availing itself of the human and technical means nor of any deus ex machina which would earn them a resounding coup. It’s up to the Aghlabids to get rid of these moments of thoughtlessness which cost them a checkered performance which could prove fatal, particularly against otherwise posh teams, as was the case last Saturday in Hammam Sousse. The admonition is particularly directed against the two Americans on duty, Jackson and Azoliebé, bursting with energy and dynamism against the CA (respectively 30 and 18 points) and totally slumped against the ESS (3 points for the first and… 2 pitiful points for his compatriot).
