Prishtina 2030: New Sports Program Details

The coordination commission of the International Committee of Mediterranean games visited Prishtina in December to assess the progress of preparations for the 2030 Games. The heart of the program was defined with 24 sports : archery, athletics, badminton, 3×3 basketball, boxing, cycling (road and mountain biking), fencing, futsal, gymnastics (artistic and rhythmic), handball, judo, karate, padel, rowing, sailing, shooting, climbing, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, wrestling (freestyle and Greco-Roman) and aquatic sports (swimming and water polo).

Rhythmic gymnastics, badminton, futsal, mountain biking, climbing and padel are included in the main program for the first time. The organizing committee has reserved the possibility of offer two to three additional sports among baseball 5, white water canoeing, kickboxing and skating.

The organizing committee also presented its plans regarding the distribution of competition venues: all athletes and officials will be accommodated at the Mediterranean Village in Prishtina, and all venues will be located within maximum distance of 45 kilometers. « The updated sports program and venue master plan are to be finalized by the end of June 2026 », specifies the CIJM. The next visit of the coordination commission is planned for May.
