The authorities carried out an operation in which weapons, ammunition, a grenade, drugs, telephones and, in addition, were seized. recovered equipment from prison staff that had been held during the revolt.
Among the items recovered are: 6 bulletproof vests, 1 tactical anti-riot vest, 14 anti-tear gas masks, 4 pairs of shackles, portable radios and computer equipment.
Additionally, during the search the following were located:
- 2 guns with two hoppers and 52 ammunition
- Crack rocks and a bag of marijuana
- Two rifle cartridges and a fragmentation grenade
- 12 cell phones, 3 chargers and shackle keys

The operation was developed after the dissemination of images in recent days that showed the mobility of some inmates in that prison.
The authorities assure that they continue with strategic actions to reinforce the supervision and control of the internal spaces of the penitentiary center.

Drugs and vest seized in zone 3
The security forces also reported this Saturday an operation in the El Gallito neighborhood, zone 3, within the framework of the state of siege, having located an abandoned vehicle with drugs, money and other items.
PNC agents, with the support of a K9 canine from the Guatemalan Army, located the car that contained seven deposits with cocaine, plastic vials with heroin, a blister of crack, a BB gun and a telescopic sightin addition to Q723 in cashwhich, according to authorities, shows the presence of different types of drugs and accessories associated with illicit activities in the area.

In relation to the actions in zone 3 of the capital, the Army has maintained and reinforced control operations in coordination with the National Civil Police, with a presence on main streets and avenues.
The inspections are carried out on vehicles and support from canine units of the “Guarida de Honor” Military Police brigade.
