Residents of Valkenswaard and the surrounding villages can get acquainted with pickleball on Sunday, January 11. Tennis club LTV Dommelen is organizing a free clinic that day in De Belleman sports hall in Dommelen. The clinic lasts from 12 noon to 2 p.m. and is intended for anyone who is curious about this sport.
Pickleball has been offered by LTV Dommelen for two years and is gaining popularity. The association reports that the number of members is still growing. Since August, LTV Dommelen has also had its own pickleball outdoor courts, which makes the further development of the sport within the club possible.
Combination of well-known racket sports
Pickleball is a racket sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. The sport is played on a smaller court, which keeps the game clear and accessible to many people. According to the organization, pickleball is suitable for players of all ages and levels, both for people with sports experience and for beginners.
According to LTV Dommelen, the game is not only about moving, but also about meeting. Pickleball is about exercising together, meeting new people and being active in an accessible way. The sport is described as easy to learn, with plenty of opportunities to develop yourself further.
Free clinic on Sunday afternoon
To introduce more residents to pickleball, LTV Dommelen is organizing another clinic. This will take place on Sunday, January 11 in the De Belleman sports hall in Dommelen. Between noon and two o’clock participants get the opportunity to experience for themselves how the sport is played. Participation in the clinic is free.
The clinic is intended for residents of Valkenswaard and neighboring municipalities who are looking for a new sporting activity. According to the organization, no prior knowledge is necessary and fun is central.
