In the personnel of Daniel Peretz, a solution is emerging that both Hamburger SV as well as FC Bayern and FC Southampton can live well with. As initially reported by “Bild” and then by “Hamburger Abendblatt” and “Sky”, the negotiating parties are largely in agreement. Goalkeeper Peretz should therefore break off his loan from HSV until the end of the season and move to Southampton in the Championship for the second half of the season. He is expected to fly to England on Monday evening to complete the medical check on Tuesday.

Peretz, who moved from Munich to Hamburg with the expectation of becoming a regular goalkeeper, lost the team’s internal duel against promoted goalkeeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes (33). That’s why the Israeli is said to have been thinking about leaving HSV early for a long time. Peretz recently found himself unable to take part in the North Germans’ team training – possibly in order not to jeopardize a winter transfer. Instead, he worked alone in the weight room.
Initially it was said that the Hamburg team would only give up their number two once they had found a replacement. According to Bild, the former sports director Stefan Kuntz and Bayern boss Max Eberl verbally agreed in mid-December that Peretz’s loan would be canceled if the player was not able to play in the second half of the season. The topic has now been taken over by sports director Claus Costa and finance director Eric Huwer.
The agreement with Bayern last summer stipulated a loan fee of 500,000 euros. According to reports, Hamburg no longer have to pay anything for the six months, but they need a new goalkeeper for the second half of the season, who doesn’t seem to have been found yet. Southampton, on the other hand, had to transfer 400,000 euros to FC Bayern, according to “Sky”. Part of the deal will also be a purchase option worth around 8 million euros – a sum that is higher than FC Bayern’s transfer fee in 2023. At that time, 5 million euros were paid. The goalkeeper’s market value fell to just 2 million euros over the course of the first half of the season. Peretz only made two appearances for HSV in the DFB Cup.
