A new forceful blow was dealt to organized crime in PatLa Libertad, after the dismantling of the Centurión criminal gang, dedicated to the armed illegal miningthe violent appropriation of mineheads and the possession of highly dangerous materials.
The intervention was carried out by the Pataz Unified Command (CUPAZ), made up of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces (CCFFAA) and the National Police of Peru (PNP), as a result of sustained operational intelligence and territorial control work.
The operation took place in the Pueblo Nuevo annex, district and province of Pataz, where law enforcement officers intervened. mine mouth called Choloquea strategic point used by the criminal organization for the illegal extraction and collection of gold material.

The authorities recalled that the Choloque mine entrance had already been intervened previously, finding explosive material that had to be destroyed by specialized personnel from the DIVCOMIN, due to the unsafe conditions for its transfer, which confirms the persistence of the criminal risk in this mining area.
The Joint Command of the Armed Forces reiterated that it will maintain a firm, legal and sustained presence in the province of Pataz, with the objective of consolidating territorial control, relentlessly combating illegal mining and protecting the population against the threats of organized crime.
