TRANSFERS Yasin Özcan’s time at Anderlecht is already coming to an end. The 19-year-old Turkish defender, on loan this season from Aston Villa, is about to join Besiktas, where a three and a half year contract awaits him.

This move is made possible by another major transfer: the departure of Tammy Abraham from Besiktas to Aston Villa for 21 million euros. An operation that frees the way for Özcan.
Arriving this summer, Özcan never managed to establish himself as a starter at Anderlecht. Despite a first match as a starter last weekend against Dender, his playing time remained limited.
Several factors worked against him: competition on the left flank, complicated integration, notably because of the language, and above all a purchase option of 8 million euros, considered too high by the RSCA.
The Istanbul club wishes to complete the arrival of the young international hopeful this winter. Özcan should sign there for 3.5 years, with the ambition of relaunching his progress in an environment he knows better.
