As the end of the winter transfer window approaches, Olympique de Marseille is increasing its options to strengthen its midfield.
Clear priority of Olympian leaders: bring density and complementary profiles to the environment. With this in mind, the Marseille club is moving forward on the Quinten Timber file, currently at Feyenoord. The 24-year-old Dutchman, at the end of his contract in six months, is going through a delicate period with his coach Robin van Persie, despite solid statistics this season. An eight-time international, and twin brother of Jurriën Timber (Arsenal), he represents an interesting market opportunity for OM.
This file does not, however, exclude other movements. According to The TeamMarseille still wishes to recruit Himad Abdelli, Angers SCO midfielder, also free at the end of the season. The idea would even be to complete the arrivals of Timber and Abdelli in order to anticipate possible departures in the midfield. An ambitious strategy which demonstrates OM’s desire to approach the second part of the season with more solutions and competition.
Another touch in Italy?
Finally, a third track runs in Italy. According to Sky ItaliaOM would have inquired about Lucas Da Cunha, executive of Como in Serie A. Captain and indisputable holder under the orders of Cesc Fabregas, the French midfielder is however under contract until 2029, with an estimated value of 15 million euros. A track considered complex at this stage, but which illustrates the intense activity of OM in this winter transfer window.
