Miguel Oliveira has made a positive start to pre-season testing for the WSBK World Championship in Jerez, in what is the first competitive contact of 2026 before the opening round in Australia. When we reach the middle of the testing day, the Portuguese rider occupies third place in the general classification, having recorded a best lap time of 1:54.260, 1.284 seconds behind the session leader, his teammate at ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team, Danilo Petrucci.
It is important to highlight that the times were achieved in far from ideal conditions, as the rain that fell in the morning left the asphalt with uneven grip throughout the day. The mixed conditions forced drivers and teams to take a cautious approach, focused mainly on adaptation, data collection and tuning of the BMW M 1000 RR.
Despite this, Oliveira showed competitiveness from an early age, confirming a consistent evolution in this initial phase of preparation for the new season.
