Opposed to a Regional 1 team in the Gambardella Cup, the OL U18s did the job in the first quarter of an hour. They then managed to qualify for the round of 16 (1-4).

The road continues for the OL U18s in the Gambardella Cup. After Racing Besançon (0-6) and Annecy (0-4), they completed a new round this Saturday early in the evening. As in the 64th and 32nd finals, Florent’s players Balmont challenged, away from home, a Regional 1 team. Favorites on paper against Hyères, since they play a division above, they enforced this status.

Even without Rémi HimbertAdil Hamdani et Alejandro Gomes Rodriguezall with the professionals, the Gones attacked the meeting very hard. Their dominance was rewarded with Melvin’s achievements Otobo and Matthew Hoare during the first quarter of an hour.

In the 11th minute, the defender took advantage of a poorly pushed corner to open the scoring. Then the attacker perfectly exploited an opponent’s loss of ball in the 14th minute. A fanfare start, before the pressure falls somewhat on the Hyères cages. Without being too threatened, the Lyonnais tried to manage this advance.

They even did better than that by definitely taking off after the break. Served in depth, Ajdin Muminovic sent a caviar to Mathieu Hoareau, who pushed the ball into the empty cage (0-3, 55th). Ideal when returning from the locker room, Florent Balmont took the opportunity to give playing time to all the substitutes. One of them was also decisive, Hocine Boulegroun offering the fourth goal to captain Billy-Paul Mavudia (73rd). The reduction in the opposing gap at the end of the game did not change much (1-4, 88th).

OL U18 has therefore not fallen into the Var trap, and will be there in the round of 16. He joins PSG, Olympique Rovenain and Nice, also qualified. The draw will take place on Thursday February 5, for a match scheduled for the weekend of March 7-8. In the meantime, return of the championship on February 8 for this group which will go to Troyes. With the objective of returning to victory and maintaining second place ahead of Metz, always on the lookout.
