Champions Oklahoma City Thunder suffered their second defeat in a row in the NBA. The defending champions, who still had to make do without German center Isaiah Hartenstein (calf injury), lost to the Toronto Raptors 101:103, but remain at the top of the league with a record of 37:10.
MVP Shai-Gilgeous Alexander scored 24 points for the Thunder, who had already lost the repeat of last year’s finals against the Indiana Pacers. For the Raptors, who clinched their fourth win in a row, Immanuel Quickley was the most successful player with 23 points and eleven rebounds.
Warriors beat Timberwolves
The Golden State Warriors also won 111:85 at the Minnesota Timberwolves. The game in Minneapolis was postponed after the fatal police shooting of a man in the city amid protests against the US government’s deportation policy.
“I found the atmosphere in the stands bizarre and sad – it was one of the strangest games I’ve ever been a part of,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said.
