Obermais Sign Serie A Striker – Serie D Transfer News

Obermais’ new striker has already gotten a feel for his new venue.

After Michael Seaton’s departure, there was a vacant position in attack at FC Obermais. Now the Serie D club has signed a new player. The new guy brings a lot of experience from professional leagues.

Shortly before Christmas it was announced that Michael Seaton would no longer play for Obermais after his suspension (he was given four games for insulting the referee). The contract with the Jamaican former international was terminated. Where Seaton is headed is still unclear. The traces lead back to Germany. Seaton most recently played on a trial basis at Bonner SC.

As a result, those responsible for FCO sports were not idle. There was contact with several players, but in the end Christian Platzer and Michael Höller reached an agreement with a Slovakian. Nikolas Spalek moves from Giulianova to the spa town. The 28-year-old brings a lot of experience, both at home and abroad. “He is a very interesting player who has recently made a few wrong career decisions. He really wants to play and prove himself at FCO,” said Platzer in a statement SportNews.

Slovakian champion & European Championship qualification

Spalek, who is planned as a right winger, became Slovakian champion with Zilina at the age of 19 (31 games, 9 goals). As a result, he not only played in qualifying for the Champions League (and scored a goal against Copenhagen) and 14 times in the Europa League, but was also called up to the Slovakia national team. However, he was not used there.

Nikolas Spalek (r.) played in Hungary’s first league for MTK Budapest.

Spalek then moved to Bresica, where he played with Mario Balotelli and was promoted to Serie A. There he was used 25 times and scored two goals. After five years in Brescia, we went on to Serbia, Hungary and Slovakia. In the summer, Spalek returned to Italy, where he joined Giulianova (Abruzzo) in Serie D. Now we continue to South Tyrol. “Our young, partly inexperienced, but qualitatively strong and hungry team is getting exactly the experience we need in the fight to stay in the league,” says the club.

Spalek should give FC Obermais a boost in attack before the crucial weeks. After the away game in Mestre on Sunday (2.30 p.m.), the Merano team has four direct duels on the agenda in the fight to stay in the league.
