Nottingham Forest: Igor Jesus Injury Update – Braga Clash

Nottingham Forest are sweating on the fitness of Igor Jesus before Thursday’s Europa League trip to Braga. According to Nottingham Post, the Brazilian suffered a knock before departure and is a doubt for the eight pm kick-off.

He did not train on Wednesday morning and did not fly with the group. The summer signing is their only fit striker for the fixture at the Estadio Municipal de Braga.

In his pre-match press conference, Sean Dyche said a decision would be made after seeing how the issue settles overnight, and that Jesus is not currently with the squad.

There had been suggestions Murillo also missed training before the flight. However, the centre-back has travelled to Portugal, and Dyche said he is with the group.

Forest could still fly Jesus out on the day of the game if his injury eases sufficiently. If he is unavailable, options up front are thin.

Chris Wood remains sidelined, Taiwo Awoniyi is not in the Europa League squad and Arnaud Kalimuendo is on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt. Winger Dan Ndoye covered late on in the 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Saturday and could do so again.

Dyche described Braga as a challenging place to visit and noted their strong Europa League form. He said Forest are not taking the match for granted and are approaching it very seriously.
