Nogent-le-Rotrou Athletes Honored | Ceremony Awards

The sports awards ceremony was organized by the municipality of Nogent-le-Rotrou (Eure-et-Loir), Friday January 23, 2026, in the Pierre-Mendès-France room.

The opportunity for associations to see themselves honored for the results of the previous season, to proudly display their colors during a common evening, and above all, to come together around the same passion: sport. A look back at photos of this evening dedicated to merits.

Badminton and Passion Running rewarded by the media

The municipality had 550 medals made for this annual event. Struck with an illustration of the Château des Comtes du Perche, these medals were given to all deserving athletes, but also several volunteers and section presidents.

More than 500 names were called on stage by Alain Vergnol, sports assistant and master of ceremonies for the evening.

As is customary, the local newspapers L’Action-L’Echo and L’Echo Républicain rewarded two associations in the Journalists’ Trophy category. This year, the press chose Passion Running du Perche and the Badminton Club Nogentais.

A special year for PRP

The running club was selected for its numerous sporting results across France. The Perch colors are proudly represented by PRP athletes during competitions.

It is also a club which went through a special year 2025. First, in May, with the disappearance of one of the members of the office, Jean-Luc Caro, at the age of 58. A distinguished runner, he had completed numerous races renowned for their difficulties.

And in October 2025, it was Pascal, a PRP graduate, who collapsed after a cardiac arrest at the end of a session at the Robert-Huwart complex in Nogent. Fortunately, he was saved thanks to the good reflexes of his training partners.

Fabrice Laurain and Stéphane Haudry went on stage to collect the trophy.

Passion Running du Perche could also have won another prize during this evening: that of room driver. Represented by around ten licensees, the club did not hesitate to speak out to salute the performances of its members!

Badminton, a social role to be saluted

The two local media, which report on the performances of sports clubs throughout the year, were also keen to reward the club de badminton.

An eternal school sport in Nogent-le-Rotrou, bad’ is much more than that. It’s a sport that takes care of health, an inclusive sport with events dedicated to caregivers…

It is also an activity favored by France Travail when it comes to meeting employers and job seekers.

Renaud Leroy, employee of the club, is always ready when new projects are offered to him and when it is a question of getting people talking about badminton.

Karim Laghouag, guest of honor

The municipality was counting on a guest of honor in the person of Karim Laghouag, triple Olympic medalist rider (silver in Rio, gold in Tokyo, bronze in Paris). He is aiming for a quadruple with the Los Angeles Games in the back of his mind.

But it was not the most rewarded “Laghouag” of the evening organized by the municipality… Since his son, Quentin, received medals for his football performances, at the ASN club (Nogent Sports Association) but also on behalf of the Pierre-Brossolette college.

If we rely on the number of winners, it is indeed the Alliance Nogentaise gymnastics club which wins everything with no less than… 77 medals!
