4-0, a first clean sheet and qualification
Magnificent evening for the Super Eagles. After starting this meeting in the best way, Eric Chelle’s men transformed the superiority into goals. Behind a fantastic Ademola Lookman (1 goal and 2 assists), a good Akor Adams (1 goal, 1 assist) and a double from Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian attack once again wreaked havoc. Alex Iwobi was also resplendent in the middle.
It must also be said that Mozambique was no match, not taking the match in the right tactical direction and quickly conceding actions.
Two small black points to remember for Nigeria: the yellow cards of Ndidi, Onyeka and Bassey at the end of the match. The other dark spot was this strange tense exchange between Lookman and Osimhen. The second demanding more balls from the first and more seriousness in the offensive phases.
Anyway, Nigeria goes into the quarter with a fiery attack and will face Algeria or the Democratic Republic of Congo. See you tomorrow at 5 p.m. on leparisien.fr.
There will also be the last round of 16 between Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso at 8 p.m.
90th + 3. Nigeria goes into quarters (4-0)
Superior to Mozambique from start to finish, Osimhen and his partners join the quarter-finals and will face either Algeria or the DRC.
90 » + 3. Bassey receives a yellow card
This one is really useless. The Nigerian defender receives a yellow card.
90th + 2. Good save from Urrubal
No goal for Moses Simon. At the origin of the action, the Paris FC winger was found on a cross at the far post from Osayi-Samuel. His full-range strike is stopped by Urrubal.
90th. Additional time
Three more minutes in this meeting.
88th. Onyedika enters and shows herself
Great ball from Moses Simon for Dele-Bashiru on the left of the area. The back pass to Onyedika is good and the Roman’s shot flies over the goal.

Ademola Lookman, certainly man of the match this evening, is replaced by Paul Onuachu. Samuel Chukweze replaces Akor Adams, passer and scorer this evening.

Once again, Lookman is at the entrance to the penalty area, in front of the goal. His powerful shot grazes Siluane’s right post.
75th. Akor Adams’ firecracker (4-0)
Well there you have it, second assist for Ademola Lookman. The good counter is led by Moses Simon. He serves behind Lookman. Bergamasque’s control and shift is perfect for Akor Adams. The former Montpellier man gets on his right foot and sends a missile just under Siluane’s bar. Deserved goal for him, after having been the decisive passer for the first goal.
73rd. 18 shots to 2
A sign of Nigeria’s insolent superiority, the Super Eagles’ attackers shot 16 times more than their opponents.
71st. Ndidi center is missed
The Nigerian captain wanted to serve Adams at the far post but his cross was completely missed.
68th. Osimhen is replaced!
There you go, well the attacker, whistled by the public, was taken out by Eric Chelle following his bad attitude on the pitch. He is replaced by Moses Simon. When leaving, the Galatasaray player still high-fived his partners and his coach.
67th. Fourth Mozambican change
While Victor Osimhen is almost put in his place by the Nigerian bench, Ratifo replaces striker Bangal.
66th. What a parade from Siluane
Above all: WHAT A STRIKE FROM Adams. The Sevillian takes his chance on the left of the area. Towards the opposite corner, Siluane relaxes well.
64th. Osimhen’s head is framed
On a corner, he is found. His head ends quietly in Siluane’s gloves.
64th. Osimhen is furious! The tension is palpable with Lookman
Victor Osimhen’s ego is out again… Tired of not being served in the last minutes, he makes himself heard in the Fez stadium. He insults a few partners and Ndidi is forced to separate him from Lookman…
62nd. Box for Bangal
Mozambique’s number 9 is guilty of a big foul in midfield and receives a yellow card.
61st. New Mozambican change
Young Chamito enters Witi’s place. Initially ghostly in the first half, his waking up too late cost him the end of the match.
60th. Iwobi / Lookman is a treat
The first’s passes systematically gain 20 meters. The second’s dribbles make the defenders wobble. On a new opportunity, the ball from the first to the second almost made it 4-0. Fortunately for Mozambique, Bergamo finally loses the ball.
58th. Lookman misses the target
A free kick is quickly played on the right. Onyemaechi takes his chance. Siluane makes the save and pushes the ball back onto Osimhen’s arm. Secondly, it is Lookman who inherits the ball but misses his shot. The referee finally whistles Osimhen’s hand.
56th. Good outing from Nwabali
The Super Eagles goalkeeper intervenes in front of the Mambas attackers on a strong cross from Amade.
53rd. Siluane still on the ground
As in the first period, the Mozambican goalkeeper remains on the ground. He is iced by the trainers at the left knee.
52nd. Witi Strike
Alone in the Nigeria box, Witi takes his chance, without much hope. His shot is easily blocked and returns to the Nigerian feet.
51st. 4-0 ball harvested
Akor Adams keeps the ball at the left corner point. Finally, he manages to serve Lookman hard behind in the area. The Atalanta striker’s hooks are good and his ball back too. Osayi-Samuel arrives launched and takes his chance. The ball skims the frame.
50e. Repeated twice?
Mozambique, without a solution, is once again deprived of balls at the start of the second half.
47th. Osimhen and it makes 3-0
Lookman is launched on the left. Leg passes make the difference. The favorable cons helps too. His pass to the far post is good and Osimhen beats Reinildo.
46th. Double change from Mozambique
Kambala and Nanani enter in place of Domingues and Diogo Calila.
46th. Here we go again in Fez (2-0)
Nigeria played well but must not repeat the second period experienced against Tunisia.
21:06
Mozambique persists
Conde Chiquinho’s players have intentions: to bring out the ball cleanly and build from their camp… Except that the Nigerian pressing is much more efficient. Iwobi delights, directing brilliant balls towards his attackers who then make the difference. For the Mambas, we will have to change strategy.
45th + 4. It’s the break in Fez (2-0)
Logical score for a Nigerian team in demonstration.
45th + 3. New card for Nigeria
Onyeka is guilty of a fairly heavy foul on Guima. He receives the second card of the match.
45th + 2. From one camp to another
The free kick was very well struck by Mozambique. But Iwobi cleared the ball and Lookman and Adams started the counterattack. 10 seconds later, in the Mozambican penalty area, Lookman fails to beat the goalkeeper and goes a little off-centre. Finally the ball is cleared.
45th + 1. Free kick obtained by Witi
The midfielder on the left side manages to deceive Ajayi. The free kick is very off-center on the left side.
45th. Adams misses 3-0
Nigerian dry cleaning is wreaking havoc. New loss of low ball from the Mozambicans. Iwobi serves Adams quickly. The Sevilla player hooks the defender and gets on his right foot. His shot is too crossed and misses the target.
42nd. Catamo not far from the feat
Witi serves his alter ego on the right. Geny Catamo controls magnificently and takes the ball into the box. He tries to pass between Bassey and Onyemaechi. The ball almost goes to his feet but Bassey manages to get his team out of danger.
41st. Iwobi master at playing
The Fulham player occupies a playmaker position. His animation is fantastic from the start of the match, to the creation of the two goals. His passes systematically break an opposing line.
38th. First card of the match
Wilfried Ndidi receives this card for elbowing his direct opponent during a duel.
37th. Oh Reinildo’s decisive intervention
The defender makes up for the error of his side Diogo Calila. Lookman, in the box, tried to serve Adams instead of hitting. Bad choice…
36th. Free kick obtained by Akor Adams
The decisive passer of the first goal obtains a scythe 30 meters to the right of the Nigerian goal. This free kick achieves nothing except a complicated strike from Iwobi.
35th. First heat in front of the Nigeria goal
Faisal Bangal heads the ball from a long free kick. The ball went just wide of Nwabali’s goal but no problem, the attacker was offside.
33 e. Patience tent sa chance
The Nigerian captain takes a ball from 25 meters but his shot flies far above Siluane’s goal. Just before, the goalkeeper had blocked a cross from Iwobi.
32nd. Mexer clears quickly
The former Rennes player painfully manages to clear the ball in his area with an acrobatic return, just that…
30th. Osimhen stays on the ground
The Nigerian combativeness in Mozambique’s half allowed them to recover the ball. But, in a tackle, Osimhen was stepped on. He finally gets up.
27th. New Nigerian Shot
The 7th already for Eric Chelle’s men. Osimhen is found from the head. Fortunately for Mozambique, this one is not on target. But, new bad news, Ernan Siluane remains on the ground.
25th. Osimhen plants the second (2-0)
The Galatasaray striker beats Langa to the far post. Lookman, left alone on the left, crosses towards his attacker. Third assist for the Atalanta player.
23rd. Catamo is very alone
The very good Sporting striker tries to get rid of the marking of three Nigerians. He gets the foul. By playing the free kick quickly, he is close to deceiving the opposing defenders.
20th. Lookman’s opening score (1-0)
Lookman’s third goal in this CAN. A fantastic pass from Iwobi into the run of Akor Adams. The Sevilla striker gets rid of the defender and serves Ademola Lookman back. The attacker just has to push the ball into the back of the net.
