Nguyen Thuy Linh destroys bridge at over 300 km/h
According to statistics released today (January 27) by the World Badminton Federation (BWF), Vietnam’s number one badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh achieved a smash speed of 354.2 km/h in women’s singles at the Indonesia Masters, a badminton tournament that ended on January 25.

Nguyen Thuy Linh’s thunderous smash was only surpassed by Pusarla (India, 380.1 km/h) and Busanan (Thailand, 373.7 km/h). At this tournament, Nguyen Thuy Linh reached the quarterfinals in women’s singles and received prize money of US$3,000 (approximately VND78 million) and 5,040 BWF world ranking points.

Vietnam’s number one tennis player, Nguyen Thuy Linh, will return to the international stage next March with the All England Open, which offers total prize money of up to $1.45 million.
In the BWF world rankings published today, Nguyen Thuy Linh was able to defend her 11th place. After the Indonesia Masters badminton tournament, she planned to train in Thailand, but found neither a suitable training location nor a sparring partner, so she returned to Vietnam. She is expected to make her comeback at the All England Open in March. The tournament is worth a total of up to 1.45 million US dollars (approximately 37 billion VND).
At 29 years old, Nguyen Thuy Linh continues to pursue her dream of conquering the badminton world. Her next goal is to take part in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA. She is supported by her management in Dong Nai Province, the Badminton Association and the Vietnamese Badminton Association.
