the essential
In Toulouse, a group of apprentices from the CMA de Cunac won three prestigious titles during the regional badminton tournament.

Apprentices from the Chamber of Trades of Cunac recently represented the establishment during the regional badminton tournament organized at L’Union by the national association for the development of sport in apprenticeship. An intense day, marked by clashes against teams from all over Occitania, and the participation of the Chambers of Trades and Crafts of Muret, Mende, Rodez Onet, Tarbes, the Aftral center of Toulouse as well as more distant establishments, like the departmental apprentice training center of Gironde. In the morning the group matches were played and in the afternoon the women’s and men’s final phases. Under the supervision of sports physical education teachers Fabrice Morère and Patrick Martinez, the Cunac team made up of apprentices from various trades carried the colors of the establishment high. The results were very promising, as five boys out of six, as well as Juliette Cabal, qualified for the round of 16. Juliette didn’t stop there. She won the title of regional champion, without having conceded a single match. Among the boys, two of the apprentices reached the last four. The table gave rise to an intense duel between Loïc Bussy and Shéraz Abbas, where Loïc finally won and was crowned regional champion. Shéraz climbs to the third step of the podium and the CMA thus wins three prestigious titles, with those of regional girls’ champion, regional boys’ champion and regional team champion thanks to the cumulative points. Special mention to Loïc, whose journey is particularly inspiring. He is an excellent badminton player, but he is also the national finalist in the One of the Best Apprentices of France competition in baking. Among the apprentices crowned regional team champions are Juliette Cabal, regional champion and 2A sanitary installation fitter. There is also Loïc Bussy, a professional baker and regional champion, who trains in Rabastens badminton.

Shéraz Abbas, certified professional cook, came third in the region and trains at the badminton union of the Albigensian agglomeration (UBAA). Also playing were Eloi Baland, senior vehicle maintenance technician certificate option A, Martin Langlois, sanitary installation fitter 2A and Abad Abbas cook 1A. The CMA qualified to defend its title during the French team championship, on April 2 and 3 at Temple-sur-Lot. “Thank you to the companies for freeing the young people, as well as to the badminton clubs which support the apprentices on a daily basis. Congratulations to all for your excellent results”, specifies the Apprentice Training Center (CFA).
