NFL Player to Alouettes: New Signing

The Montreal Alouettes today announced the signing of American defensive back Thakarius Keyes for two seasons (2026–2027).

Keyes (6’1”, 220 lbs) was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft. A native of Laurel, Mississippi, he played in 13 NFL games with Kansas City, Chicago and Indianapolis, totaling seven tackles. He also played for New England, Houston, Atlanta, Baltimore and Cleveland.

In 2019, Keyes started every regular season game for Tulane. He held opposing quarterbacks to a 45% success rate when they threw in his direction. He also played a key role in helping the Green Wave finish with the fifth-best pass defense in the AAC in terms of efficiency.

During his college career, the 28-year-old appeared in 39 games, amassing 95 tackles, two interceptions and 18 pass knockdowns.
