ASSE plays its first home match of 2026, on behalf of the 19th day of Ligue 2. The Greens will host Clermont Foot 63 this Saturday (8:55 p.m.). Two days before the deadline, Aïmen Moueffek responded to the media during the traditional Extracts press conference.
Aîmen Moueffek (ASSE player): “For me it’s mainly a problem with concentration. We have to stay focused, we all stay together and we continue to work because we have a good group, we have the quality to achieve this climb. If we don’t go get it this year, we’re going to have a lot of regrets. Because honestly, with a group like that, we have to go up this year.”
Cropped players
Aïmen Moueffek (ASSE player): “A turbulent transfer window with a locker room necessarily affected? I don’t necessarily have a role in that. As long as the players remain focused, I don’t have to intervene, whether it’s me or another player. Afterwards, if one of the players wants to leave and he feels less concerned or he no longer wants to work, that’s another problem. We have to intervene for the good of the team. But we know that it’s still careers, it’s still a a sport which is also individual, we cannot prevent certain players from wanting to leave, but as long as the person remains focused, gives everything for the team and does his job as best as he can, we don’t necessarily have to say anything.
There were sometimes, maybe 2-3 people who were a little dissipated, but we called them to order and they got straight to work.”
ASSE striker, a difficult job
Aïmen Moueffek (ASSE player): “Everything got back to normal very quickly. And I don’t necessarily speak Lucas (Stassin). It’s not because he doesn’t score a goal that he is elsewhere in his head. Last year, when he scored, we were all behind him. We were all there saying it’s the best. His game has not changed. He’s just less successful. We know that being an attacker is not easy. Number 9 in Saint-Etienne is even less easy.”
