NFL Argument: Husband Kills Wife, Shoots Daughter-in-Law

A Florida man shot and killed his wife days before Christmas after she asked him to stop listening to an NFL game.

Jason Kenney, 47, shot his wife, Crystal Roure, 38, because she wanted him to turn off the television during a San Francisco 49ers game against the Indianapolis Colts, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a statement, according to USA Today.

The 47-year-old man had consumed alcohol on December 22 and lost his temper when his wife told him that she no longer wanted to watch football, it is noted.

Sheriff Grady Judd said the “argument really escalated” around 11 p.m. Crystal Roure asked her 12-year-old son to go to the neighbor’s house to call 911.

As he left the scene, the young boy heard a gunshot. Authorities found the 38-year-old woman’s lifeless body, as well as Kenney’s 13-year-old stepdaughter seriously injured.

The mother wanted to protect her daughter, who was shot in the face. She miraculously survived, said USA Today.

Jason Kenney fled the scene and called his sister to tell her that he had done “something very, very, very bad.”

Authorities eventually discovered Mr. Kenney in the shed of his late father’s home. He allegedly took his own life with a gun when the police arrived.
