The new home of the Washington Commanders is a reality, This after the franchise from the capital of the United States officially presented the first images of this new property that is expected to be ready for the 2030 NFL season as a replacement for the current Northwest Stadium.
The stage will have capacity for 70,000 spectators and it will have one of the most spectacular views in the entire NFL, because in the background you can see the capitolas well as the George Washington Monument.
Besides, The stadium will have a transparent dome that rises from the sides and that its design recalls the emblematic monuments that the city of Washington DC has.

The project, which is carried out by the company HKS (in charge of the construction and design of other stages such as SoFi Stadium, US Bank and AT&T in Dallas) and beyond hosting the Commanders’ games, it will be a stadium capable of receiving all types of sports and entertainment, thus innovating the wide range of first-world stadiums with which sports in the United States have managed to become a power.
Mark Clouse, president of the Commanders, described this new stage as a venue that represents the spirit of the city as one of the most important in the entire North American territory.
“We are proud to share the first images of our future stadium, a decisive milestone in the next phase of the development process. This move underlines the strength of our collaboration with HKS, whose thoughtful and visionary approach has helped us shape a worthy concept of its extraordinary location in the Monumental Axis of DC and that perfectly embodies the spirit and character of the District. “We are deeply grateful to DC and the mayor for their leadership, collaboration, and continued support that have been instrumental in making this vision a reality,” the president of the NFL franchise explained in a statement.
Stadium with a view to the future after a million-dollar investment
Estimated cost of Commanders stadium is around $4 billion and the stage will make way for a new sports offer starting with its inauguration in the 2030 season of the National Football League.
As soon as the stadium is inaugurated, It is expected to host major events, including a Super Bowl, as well as one of the candidate venues to host the 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cup, among other major sporting events.
