After a few weeks of rest in the competition, activity returns this weekend for the Auria Badminton Club competition team. The Catalunya Master Territorial Granollers, at level N6, marks the beginning of the year for Adrián Carabali and Nerea Padrón, a tournament in which they will fight for points for the national ranking and to be present in the Spanish Championships of their respective categories.
The Auria Badminton expedition that traveled to Granollers this Friday is made up of the players Adrián Carabali and Nerea Padrón, and throughout the weekend they will be accompanied by Oliver Gausmann who will act as coach. The team made a previous stopover in Gran Canaria, before taking a second flight to Barcelona airport.
Adrián Carabali competes in the under-19 category in the Catalunya Master Territorial Granollers and the Auria Bádminton Club player initially starts as the fourth seed. In the group stage of the competition his rivals are Magno Salas, Nico Plaza and Adriá Liria. Additionally, in the men’s doubles category he will have Quim Garsaball, a player from the Bellaterra club, as a partner.
For her part, Nerea Padrón competes this time in the women’s under-15 category and in the first phase of the competition she faces Melani Mena, Isabel La Pascual and Clara Granado, a player who starts as the second seed in the tournament. Nerea Padrón will also compete in the women’s doubles, and will do so together with Martina Palacios from the Granollers club.
The participation of Nerea Padrón and Adrián Carabali in the Granollers Territorial Master will not be the only event for the Auria Bádminton Club during this weekend. In Lanzarote, the badminton modality of the Island Sports Promotion Games begins, promoted by the Island Sports Service of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, with a first day that takes place on Saturday morning at the IES Puerto del Carmen.
