Despite lacking three fundamental players in coach Bickerstaff’s rotation such as Duren, Harris and LeVert, the Pistons (26-9) managed to get the better of the Cavaliers (20-17) in Cleveland and after nine consecutive defeats at the Rocket Arena they finally found success. Detroit scores something like 47 points in the second quarter thanks above all to the impact of Jenkins who scores 21 in the half, setting a new record for a franchise reserve. The former St. John’s player ultimately finished with 25 points in 25 minutes on the court. 27 points and seven assists for Cunningham while Mitchell responds with 30 points.

Banchero takes care of making his voice heard for the Magic (20-16), scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds, supported offensively by an excellent Bane: 31 points with 12/17 from the field.

Slowly the Nuggets’ infirmary (23-12) begins to empty. Denver, in fact, finds Braun and Gordon again but in Brooklyn against the Nets (11-22) they still lose, also because Jokic is not there. With the two players returning with limited playing time and still far from their best condition, the Colorado team struggles a lot on a defensive level and the former player, Porter Jr., punishes them by scoring 27 points. The 27 points from a Murray who started with the handbrake on but found rhythm as the minutes went by, however, were not enough for the Nuggets to avoid the knockout in the Big Apple.
