NBA Game Postponed: Surreal Reason Revealed

Article by Fabrizio Ponciroli

The match between Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat was not played due to too much condensation on the parquet. It’s not the first time.

Chicago-Miami, scheduled for the night and valid for the NBA regular season, was not played. Despite the presence of fans at the United Center in Chicago, the referees didn’t even raise the ball. The reason for the postponement of the match? Too much condensation on the parquet.

This is not fake news but the simple truth. Too much humidity, unusable parquet and, consequently, no match between Bulls and Heat. It should be underlined that, iThe day before, the Chicago Blackhawks ice hockey match had taken place right at the United Center. Although everything was done to dry the pitch (the workers worked for about an hour and a half), in the end it was decided to postpone the match.

This isn’t the first time this has happened in the NBA. The last two suspensions of NBA games were due to the presence of condensation on the court (2016-17 season, in Minnesota and Philadelphia).

“The players on both teams immediately complained. When we got on the field, we realized almost immediately that it was impossible to play,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra explained in a press conference.
