The ATP Tour season kicked off with the United Cup and two ATP 250 tournaments in Brisbane and Hong Kong. Hubert Hurkacz helped Poland win the crown in Sydney, while Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Bublik left the title at stake. For his part, Lorenzo Musetti scored enough points to enter the Top 5 for the first time.

ATPTour.com reviews the movements of the week in the PIF ATP Rankings, corresponding to Monday, January 12.

No. 5 Lorenzo Musetti, +2 (Best ranking)
Musetti has broken into the Top 5 for the first time in his career, after reaching the final in Hong Kong. He is the third Italian to achieve this, after Jannik Sinner and Adriano Panatta.

It is also the first time there have been two Italians in the Top 5 at the same time in the history of the PIF ATP Rankings (since 1973), as Sinner is currently ranked No. 2. Musetti had three wins at the Bank of China Hong Kong Tennis Open, but was unable to beat Bublik in the final round.

Musetti, who has two ATP Tour titles and nine more finals, entered the Top 100 for the first time in March 2021 and stormed the Top 10 in May 2025. He will try to continue climbing positions at the Australian Open, which he will face at the end of this month.

No. 10 Alexander Bublik, +1 (Best ranking)
Bublik won his ninth ATP Tour title and fifth since June, after a huge week in Hong Kong. At 28 years old, he debuts in the Top 10 of the PIF ATP Rankings, becoming the first Kazakh to achieve this feat.

“The only objective for this season was to get to the Top 10 and in the first week I won a title and I am already in the Top 10,” said the champion in Hong Kong. “If you told me in April of last year, I wouldn’t have believed you. But it’s a pleasure and I hope to continue in this way.”

Yeah. 53 Hubert Hurkacz, +30
Hurkacz has jumped 30 positions after leading Poland to the title in the United Cup. At 28 years old, he achieved four individual victories in the mixed team tournament, including victories against two members of the Top 10 such as Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz.

No. 95 Alexander Blockx, +20
The 20-year-old Belgian started the new season in style at the ATP Challenger in Canberra, where he defeated #NextGenATP Spaniard Rafael Jodar in the final. Blockx, who enters the Top 100 for the first time, was also a finalist at the Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF last December.
