Yesterday we learned about the eight names (four per Conference) that the NBA has recognized for their great performance throughout the month that has put the finishing touch on 2025 in four different categories: Player of the Month, Rookie of the Month, Defender of the Month and Coach of the Month.
These awards always begin to be awarded in November, and continue month by month until March. That is, a total of five per season. And compared to the previous month of this 2025-26, December has brought us six new names, since there is no news in the rookies; only confirmation of his favoritism to ROY.
December Players of the Month: Jalen Brunson and Shai-Gilgeous Alexander
With the untimely injury of Nikola Jokic, the Thunder point guard has started the comeback to sign his own two-peat de MVPs.
Players of the month for November: Cade Cunningham y Nikola Jokic.
Rookies of the month of December: Kon Knueppel and Cooper Flagg
Despite VJ Edgecombe’s efforts to play for the winning basket or the great deflowering that rookies like Derik Queen (NOLA) or Cedric Coward (Grizzlies) are having, it seems that there will be no doubts – except injury or abrupt rookie wall– as for who are the greatest standouts to push for the Rookie of the Year.
With Dylan Harper also out of the fight due to lack of minutes, the numbers 1 and 4 of the Draft pull alone at each end of the rope.

December Defenders of the Month: Isaiah Stewart II and Chet Holmgren
Tremendous credit to the Pistons interior for managing to break into this category by coming out as a substitute as a key element of the global success that the motor city franchise is enjoying.
Defenders of the month of November: Scottie Barnes y Cason Wallace.
December Coaches of the Month: Mitch Johnson and Joe Mazzulla
It does not stop at the level of the players, and the League also recognizes the two coaches who have stood out the most in the Conference. On this occasion, Mitch Johnson (San Antonio Spurs) who sweeps away not only in terms of balance, but also because of the rival he has had to defeat on up to three occasions in a single month: the Oklahoma City Thunder.
If the Warriors’ record in the regular season ends up slipping away, much of the credit will go to the Texans.
For their part, the Celtics destroy any threat of tanking, occupying third place in the Eastern Conference with a hard-fought slate, intense basketball and non-negotiable energy.
