After the recent arrival of striker Martin Novák, Lapač reports another reinforcement. Even louder! The experienced Miroslav Svoboda will strengthen the Vsetín goalpost, the club announced on its website.
The 30-year-old goalkeeper has agreed on a long-term contract with his parent club Vsetín until the end of the 2027/28 season.

“We are acquiring a goalkeeper of high quality, moreover, a native of Vsetín. We believe that he will increase the competition in the goal area and help us achieve the club’s goals,” sports director Pavel Hanák adds to the address of the latest acquisition.

The last time Svoboda caught for Vsetín was in the 2011/12 season, while he was still a teenager. He then worked in Třinec, Pilsen and Vítkovice, unsuccessfully tried to establish himself across the ocean and in recent years anchored in Finland.
In 2023, he headed to the Vaasan Sport club, where he worked until this December. The season was going great, he was the clear number one on the team, but last November he was injured, a dislocated shoulder kept him sidelined for the rest of the year.

He got himself together over the summer and started this season with a clean sheet against Oulu, but then conceded four goals to Hämeenlinna and never looked at the net again. The experienced Finn Joni Ortio became the number one goalkeeper, the club said goodbye to Miroslav Svoboda.
Now he is ready to jump back into the match carousel, he could help the fifth team in the first league table for the first time already on Sunday, January 4 on the ice of Sokolov.
