The Mavericks welcome the Nuggets to the American Airlines Center for the NBA regular season. The Texans’ season is very frustrating. Defensively, Dallas shows great promise, particularly in assists and defensive withdrawals. Offensively, individual talent is not enough to mask collective shortcomings. The latest results confirm an inability to string together positive performances, with 8 losses in the last 12 meetings. To this, we add the repeated injuries to Anthony Davis, and the absence of Kyrie Irving since the start of the season. Consequence? Dallas is struggling to meet expectations and is moving away from the play-in.
The Nuggets, for their part, confirm their status as a safe bet in the West. Defensively, Denver remains disciplined and efficient in managing the tempo. Offensively, the team game is one of the most accomplished in the league. The last few weeks show a very confident team, which manages to win matches with several players absent. The bench, for its part, responds. With a record of 27 wins for 13 losses, the Nuggets have established themselves as a very serious candidate for the title.
