Not just Davis
Rebuild at the Mavs? These players are supposed to bring picks
What are the Dallas Mavericks doing at the trade deadline? It is assumed that the Mavericks will continue their rebuild and therefore listen to offers for various players.

As Marc Stein (Substack) reports, the Texans are open to trades up until the deadline on February 5th, but Dallas won’t simply sell off their players. In addition to Anthony Davis, other teams could be particularly interested in Max Christie and Naji Marshall.
The Mavs would like to have a first-round pick for both players, as the duo has had good performances this season. Among other things, Marshall puts up a career-high of 14.7 points per game, along with an average of just under five rebounds – and that with good odds.
Christie, who moved from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Mavs last year as part of the Luka Doncic trade, has also blossomed. The 22-year-old has developed into a solid 3-and-D player; he is also averaging a career high of 13.3 points and converting around 45 percent of his three-pointers.
Will the Mavs tank at the end of the season?
With a record of 19-27, the Mavericks are currently in twelfth place in the Western Conference, which clouds their prospects in the fight for the playoffs. Davis, who may also be traded, is injured again and Kyrie Irving has not yet played after tearing his cruciate ligament.
It would probably make sense for the Mavs not to chase No. 10 since they only have control over their first-round pick this season. Another young player would certainly do the team good alongside top pick Cooper Flagg.
