Martin Réway was on trial at an unnamed club of the Slovak Tipsport league, Liptovský Mikuláš coach Aleš Totter revealed.
This statement comes after he was supposed to quit the Liptov club at the beginning of November, when, according to him, he did something stupid.
“This is the day I finish in Liptovský Mikuláš. You all know me, I am not and was not perfect, but I always left everything on the ice, but I did something stupid before the match in Trenčín, for which I subsequently apologized to everyone, paid a fine. And the matter should have been closed,” Réway wrote on Wednesday on the social network.
However, the owner Róbert Ľupták did not agree with this. “He has a valid contract. I will not comment on what he wrote. He must first put it together in his head, and then it will become clear what will happen next. We will see if his health will allow him to continue and whether or not he will respect the instructions for which examinations he should go to,” he said.
In response, the player stated that the club released him. Officially, he is still listed as an injured player. Now, Totter also commented on the topic again, revealing that Réway completed trials at an unspecified club in the Tipsport league.
“He was on trial at another extra-league club. He was there for one training session, but they sent him away for similar reasons that we criticized him for. We were willing to release him, they wanted to try him out, but he didn’t pass some standards of the organization.
It was the same problem as ours. However, we will deal with his situation in perspective,” concluded Totter in the reaction quoted hockey portal.
The coach announced at the same time the end of Oldrich Kotvanwho arrived in Liptovský Mikuláš less than two months ago.
“He finished with us the day before the match with Košice. We are now waiting to see where we will direct him. He is an excellent defender, but he did not fit into our style of hockey. We want to play a little faster hockey, move the puck quickly and move around.
It didn’t sit well and we felt that it was a pain on both sides,” added the coach. The arrival of a new defender is also said to be in the game,
