Marco Ottolini: Juventus Appoint New Sporting Director

Torino – With the official arrival of Marco Ottolini as the new sporting director of Juventus, the Juventus management revolution has been completed. The former Genoa sporting director, who also moved to Continassa in the past, will have an operational role: it will be up to him, as anticipated by Spalletti in the press conference a few minutes after his arrival was made official, to move on the market, create relationships with other clubs, manage and make that sector, scouting, work, which in recent years has brought great satisfaction to Juventus.

Ottolini sports director, the missing card

In the management of the Juventus sports area, only the figure of the sports director was missing. A role that from today will be covered by Marco Ottolini, who will report directly to Damien Comolli. Born in 1980, he hung up his boots in 2002: after his initial apprenticeship, in 2015 he flew to Belgium, to Anderlecht, and then had his first experience at Juventus in 2018. Having left Turin in 2022 to join Genoa, an experience in which he brought players such as Retegui and Norton-Cuffy under the Lanterna, he returned in 2026 as a key member of the management staff of Comolli: with his arrival the French manager will be able to dedicate himself to the development of the club by delegating on the market.

The management structure of Juventus

At the top of the Juventus management pyramid today is Damien Comolli, CEO of the club and deus ex machina of the Juventus sporting area. The French manager, former coach, observer and president, will collaborate closely with Giorgio Chiellini, strategic manager of the club, with the technical director François Modesto and with Marco Ottolini. Modesto will take care of relations with the first team, while Ottolini will have the task of finding players “from Juventus” on the market, to raise the technical level of the squad. His work has already begun both incoming and outgoing: it will be up to him to manage delicate situations such as the one relating to Vlahovic, Perin, the summer assault on Tonali or the attempt for Frattesi. In addition, of course, to the renewal of Yildiz, which at the moment represents the necessary move to secure the Turkish jewel, the extra man in the Juventus squad.
