Man City: €75M Transfer Confirmed?

Antoine Semenyo has secured his dream transfer to Manchester City, reports Fabrizio Romano. The 25-year-old Bournemouth attacker has passed the medical examination and will sign a long-term contract with the blue club from Manchester.

Semenyo could choose from almost all English top clubs this winter. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur dropped out at the end of December, while Manchester United continued to fight for his signature until the end. The London-born Ghanaian expressed his preference for Pep Guardiola’s team around the turn of the year, which is also why the Red Devils withdrew from the race.

There was some haste in the final formalities for the transfer to Manchester City, as the buyout clause in Semenyo’s contract expired on January 10. The Citizens could take him over from Bournemouth for a fixed amount of 75 million euros before next Saturday and will do so.

Semenyo made a great impression in the first half of the season the Cherries and was important on several occasions with nine goals and three assists in twenty games. The right winger’s contract lasted until the summer of 2030, but he will not be serving that term. The Ghanaian international, who can play on both flanks, will compete at the Etihad Stadium with Savinho, Jérémy Doku and Rayan Cherki, among others.
