Malmö FF vs Genk: Left-Back Analysis – Sydsvenskan

The snow did not prevent Malmö FF from conducting an artificial grass training session two days before the Europa League meeting with Genk.

However, a number of players were missing during the session.

Martin Olsson, Anders Christiansen, Pontus Jansson, Andrej Djuric, Johan Dahlin, Jens Stryger and Otto Rosengren were not on the field. Gentian Lajqi drove alongside with physical trainers.

MFF looked like to play together a starting eleven during training, one man used it both in games and in fixed situations.

And in it, Theodor Lundbergh took his place on the left in the back line. A solution forced by Gabriel Busanello being suspended and Martin Olsson not yet in training. Olsson has had problems with a knee, coach Miguel Angel Ramirez told after the match against Red Star.

Lundbergh is certainly unproven in the position at senior level, but has been at fullback earlier in his career.

This is how the “starting eleven” was formed in training: Robin Olsen/Melker Ellborg – Johan Karlsson, Oscar Lewicki, Colin Rösler, Theodor Lundbergh – Salifou Soumah, Adrian Skogmar, Kenan Busuladzic, Hugo Bolin – Sead Haksabanovic, Erik Botheim.

A not entirely wild guess is that Pontus Jansson steps in instead of Oscar Lewicki, provided that the MFF captain’s absence from training is not due to an injury.
