Magic Win: Late Surge Secures Victory

The Orlando Magic have achieved their second win in a row in the North American basketball league NBA. The team led by Franz Wagner, who was out injured, played an outstanding final quarter against the Toronto Raptors and won 130:120.

Wagner returned too early for the game against the Memphis Grizzlies in his hometown of Berlin around two weeks ago after an ankle injury and has had to sit out again since then. Without the 24-year-old star player, the Magic initially trailed for long stretches against the Raptors before putting up 44 points in the fourth quarter and narrowly missing the franchise record (45). In addition to top scorer Desmond Bane (32), Tristan da Silva and Moritz Wagner contributed eight and one points respectively.

Schröder disappointed with the Kings

National team captain Dennis Schröder had a bitter evening. The 32-year-old and the Sacramento Kings lost to the Boston Celtics at TD Garden 93:112, thus suffering their eighth defeat in a row. Schröder, around whom there are persistent trade rumors, only recorded four points in just under 23 minutes of playing time as a starter and only hit one of his eleven attempts from the field.

Kleber and Hukporti celebrate victories

Things went better for Maximilian Kleber from the Los Angeles Lakers and Ariel Hukporti from the New York Knicks. Superstar Luka Doncic was outstanding for the Lakers in the 142:111 win against the Washington Wizzards with 37 points, eleven rebounds and 13 assists. Kleber scored four points in five minutes off the bench. Hukporti was able to celebrate with the Knicks for the fifth time in a row. In the 127:97 win against the Portland Trail Blazers, the German center recorded a total of two points and two rebounds in four minutes.
