After the first set, Littler responded to the crowd. “Maybe I reacted a little too early after the first set, but when I came back on stage for the second set, they were still going. Then I thought: you’re a little early.” After the match, Littler went completely crazy. After his winning arrow, Littler turned towards the audience and blew a few kisses and urged them to remain silent.
Luke Littler has never felt so good and warns the opposition: “This was quite a statement”
In the post-match interview, Littler revisited that moment. “It doesn’t bother me at all, it really doesn’t.” The crowd responded with whistles and boos. Littler then looked towards the audience and burst into a cynical laugh. “Can I say one thing? You’re paying for tickets and therefore also my prize money! Thank you for that, thank you for your boos.”
At the press conference, Littler returned to the atmosphere in Alexandra Palace. “I have learned from previous experiences with the crowd. I expect the same atmosphere in my quarter-final and I am ready for it. The crowd wanted to see the underdog win, but that gave me extra fuel.”
