Feyenoord has broken open and extended the contract of Luciano Valente, the club announced through its own channels. The midfielder was contracted until mid-2029, but is attached for another year.

Valente came over from FC Groningen for six million euros last summer, but is now signing a new contract in South Rotterdam.

“I am very happy and it has all gone very quickly in recent months,” he says on the club website. “I am proud that Feyenoord has expressed extra appreciation to me so quickly with this agreement. It also says a lot about how much I am enjoying the club and I think I can develop much further here.”

“I do this with all my love and pleasure. I didn’t have to think long about it. This feels like a reward and a prelude to more,” he continues.

“The club has high expectations of me and I also have them of myself, I want to grow together to an even higher level. I am proud of every minute I spend here in this shirt and I enjoy it immensely. May many more good things follow,” concludes the 22-year-old Dutch international.
According to FR12, Valente will also make significant financial progress with the extension. The new salary should deter major clubs who will be interested in the playmaker in the summer.

Since his arrival, Valente has already played 28 official matches in the Feyenoord shirt. He scored two goals and seven assists.
