Luca Zidane: Algeria’s Rising Star at CAN 2024

According to Ramy Bensebaïni, Luca Zidane is a cheater. In a video published Sunday on the Algerian selection’s TikTok account, the Borussia Dortmund central defender, mockingly, bickers with the Fennecs goalkeeper, accusing him in a humorous tone of counting the points of a game in training to his advantage. Luca settles the pseudo-dispute by lifting his teammate off the ground before exulting in front of the camera.

A scene which sums up the successful integration of Zinédine’s son into the Fennecs locker room during CAN 2025, even though he has only played three matches for the selection since his debut against Uganda on October 14 (2-1). The fourth, the first to be eliminatory, is scheduled for this Tuesday (5 p.m.) in the round of 16 of CAN 2025, against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
