The president of Olympique de Marseille once again proved his flair during a well-executed operation on the transfer market.
It is a departure which fueled numerous debates Marseillelast summer, for a player who had just had the most prolific season of his career… And yet, Luis Henrique continues his story in relative anonymity this season. Transferred last summer for compensation of around 25 million euros, the versatile Brazilian winger (capable of playing in the attack line or in a piston role) has not really confirmed the expectations placed on him, to say the least.
Having appeared 17 times with Inter in all competitions, Luis Henrique has still not unlocked his goal tally with the Italian club. The Brazilian is struggling to convince his coach Cristian Chivu, who is limited to adding a complementary element to his rotation.
A popularity rating already well scratched
One match symbolized Luis Henrique’s current difficulties at Inter. It was an ordinary meeting between his club and Pisa. And the former Olympique de Marseille player had to give up his place after half an hour of play, paying the price for a badly missed start to the match. A flop commented on by journalist Guillaume Pacini, who underlined the downgrading of the player and the impact of this decision by Chivu on a psychological level.
“Morally we will still have to get over it for Luis Henrique… The player goes out under the bronca and at 0-2. Without him, his team goes 3-2 in 8 minutes. He had just made 8 starts in the last 9 matches in Serie A (Dumfries injured), we had seen (a little bit) better. There, good luck…”. Renowned for his ability to buy players, Pablo Longoria also has a recognized talent for selling his assets…
