Local Police Boost Self-Defense Training | [City/Region]

Eight new instructors have just completed training and will take up service in the local police, which now sees its number rise to 16 units. They are professionals specialized in police operational techniques, self-defense and the use of the tools provided, such as pepper spray and extendable baton, and will be responsible for training the staff.

The instructors

Specifically, these are seven agents and one officer. We are therefore doubling, since until yesterday the team was made up of 8 operators of different grades, all in active service and engaged in training colleagues in other regional entities. The course consisted of 110 hours (80 for self-defense and operational techniques and 30 for the correct use of the spray/stick). Added to this were a further 12 hours of refresher courses carried out together with the entire team, with the aim of consolidating the group. All 16 team operators are officially recognized by Fijlkam (Italian Judo Fight Karate Martial Arts Federation) as third level instructors.

Lessons in high schools

Over the years, explains the municipal councilor for safety Caterina de Gavardo, the instructors “have also brought their skills to the secondary schools of our city, organizing lessons dedicated to self-defense techniques and good practices, calibrated to the needs of the students and always with a view to making young people capable of recognizing and avoiding any risk situations”.
