The Toyota GR Yaris is already a very interesting and popular sports car in its basic configuration, but the automaker is trying to make it even more special with a series of special editions. After the recently released Morizo Edition, now comes the GR Yaris Sébastien Ogier 9× World Champion Edition.
As the name suggests, the car was created to celebrate driver Sébastien Ogier, who participates in the world rally championship with the Toyota Gazoo Racing World Rally Team (TGR-WRT) and won his ninth world championship title last season.
The new car, which is still in the prototype phase, was presented on January 22 before the start of the Monaco rally. It is built on the foundations of the GR Yaris Aero Performance, but it differs from the regular version with a functional aero kit consisting of six elements. These have the task of both improving downforce and controllability, as well as cooling the car.
However, the new limiter also brings a redesigned all-wheel drive control system. Track mode replaces the Seb with a 40:60 split of drive torque between the axles, sending the car more power to the rear axle. However, thanks to the drive and front wheels, it is still easy to control.
The Gravel mode then replaced the Morizo mode and promises maximum grip in turns. This setup was developed by the head of the car company Akio Toyoda (nicknamed Morizo) and Ogier liked this mode, where the front axle is firmly connected to the rear during acceleration (while the force of this grip is reduced as needed during braking).
In addition to technical changes, there was also aesthetic tuning. The exterior is decorated with unique black Gravite paint, complemented by matte black wheels. The brake calipers are decorated in blue, characteristic of Ogier, and we see the French tricolor in the mask.

Red, blue and gray stitching completes the cabin, again as a reference to the French tricolor. The specialty is the new steering wheel with a unique arrangement of control elements, inspired by racing cars, or the leather handle of the vertical handbrake.
Each car will also receive a special edition number plate. It will be produced in the number of 200 pieces for the whole world, while 100 pieces will go to Europe. The automaker has not yet announced the price or availability. However, we know from the past that the interest in these cars was huge.
As early as 2024, the Czech representative of the car manufacturer auctioned four limited edition cars of the GR Yaris model. The starting price for each was 1.8 million crowns, but in the end they were all auctioned for the sum of 9.5 million crowns. The most expensive piece was sold for 2,470,000 crowns.
