Lilli Tagger: Ranking Rise After Tournament Win

The East Tyrolean Lilli Tagger won her biggest tournament to date at ITF level on Saturday. The 17-year-old won the ITF W100 tournament in Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates. This means she has improved 25 positions in the WTA rankings and is now in the top 130 for the first time.

Lilli Tagger won the final against Briton Harriet Dart 6:4,6:2 and won her fourth title at Challenger level. Next week the East Tyrolean will continue in Mumbai, India, where she will compete in a WTA125 tournament.

Tagger had previously won the ITF level tournaments in Terrassa, Bucharest and Kursumlijska Banja. Her greatest success to date was reaching the final of the WTA250 tournament in Jiujiang almost three months ago.
