LIESHOUT – Badminton Club Lieshout held a successful PubQuiz for its members on Friday evening, January 23. The club shows that in addition to the weekly badminton evening on Wednesdays, it is also fully committed to fun and connecting activities without the rackets and shuttles. Various activities are also on the program in 2026.
The PubQuiz started at 8:30 PM. The participants were divided into teams, each of which came up with an original team name. After distributing the answer sheets, the first of six quiz rounds began. The questions all related to the year 2025 and ranged from politics and sports to media and current affairs. Although the topics were still fresh in our minds, some questions turned out to be surprisingly difficult. What was the distribution of seats after the elections? And was that film fragment from ‘Winter for love’ or from ‘long live love’? Well-known advertising slogans and film fragments also caused some headaches. The final round consisted of music questions, where both naming the title and artist earned points.
After each round the answers were discussed. There was a short break between several rounds, during which quizmaster Derek Dirven processed the scores. In the meantime, Ruud Huijbers, manager of Sports Hall De Klumper, provided tasty snacks. Thanks to a contribution from NOC*NSF, specifically intended to put volunteers in the spotlight, Badminton Club Lieshout was able to make a special impression. After an exciting battle, the final score was announced. Team Jammie ultimately walked away with the victory. After a strong start, things slowed down a bit in rounds 3, 4 and 5, but with a convincing final sprint they managed to secure the win.
