Liepāja Badminton: 2025 Results & Successes

The year 2025 ends with excellent results for our badminton players, who won prize-winning places both at the final stage of the FZ Forza Youth Cup in Sigulda, and at the Yonex Sigulda 22nd International 2025 II, both in the Latvian rating and in the overall rating of the Latvian Youth Cup, informs A. Brečs.

Leonardo Golovchenko won three bronzes in the Diamond League at the final stage of the FZ Forza Youth Cup in Sigulda, winning the small finals in singles, doubles paired with Didzi Jaunzema (RSP/RBS) and mixed doubles with Marta Heiza.

Silver in the Golden League doubles for Ieva Mezhdrei with Angelina Winkler.

High 4th place in the Golden League in doubles for Andrej Lobakova and Tomas Malinauskas. Lobakova also won bronze in boys’ singles and 4th place in mixed doubles paired with Angelina Winkler in the Bronze I League.

Excellent results for Liepāja citizens also in the Latvian Youth Cup five-stage overall ranking, where Žanete Griniece and Marta Heizei won 1st place in U21 doubles, Heizei also won 1st place in U21 mixed doubles; 2nd place to Leonardo Golovchenko in both singles, doubles and mixed games; 2nd place in U13 doubles to Alisa Antane, 3rd place in U15 singles and doubles to Ieva Meždreija!

A good start for us also at Yonex Sigulda 22nd International 2025 II, 4th place Leonardo Golovchenko in group A (elite) singles in 4th place, and gold paired with Angelina Winkler in group B mixed doubles.
