Englishman Liam Rosenior has officially become the new coach of Chelsea London football players. After the announcement of several sources, the club also confirmed it on Tuesday morning. According to information, “The Blues” signed a contract until 2032.
The 41-year-old coach said after the appointment: “It’s a club with a unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies. My job is to protect that identity and build a team that reflects those values in every game we play, while also wanting to keep winning trophies.”
Until now, Rosenior led the French side Strasbourg, with whom he appeared in the Conference League and on the ground of Slovan Bratislava and enjoyed a 2:1 victory.
“There are certain moments in life when you have to decide on things and you can’t say no. For me, Strasbourg is a club that I would love for the rest of my life. But I can’t refuse this opportunity for many reasons,” he said goodbye to the French club at a press conference.
The management of the English club FC Chelsea dismissed the 45-year-old Italian Enzo Maresca from the post of head coach after unsuccessful results. At the same time, Maresca had a valid contract with the Premier League participant until the summer of 2029.
However, the Londoners have struggled with results in recent weeks, they managed to score fully only once in the previous seven league matches.
They are in fifth place in the Premier League table, but they are already 15 points behind leaders Arsenal. In mid-November, they were in contact with the top of the table.
French Strasbourg and Chlsea are owned by the same group, the BlueCo consortium.
