Leuven Marathon 2024: Course Details & Highlights

A loop through Heverleebos and the Keizersberg that remains as a major challenge. That is the short summary of the route for the Leuven marathon on April 19. The Keizersberg also appears in the Half Marathon and during the 10 kilometers. The start and finish are at the Sportoase, just like last year at the European Running Championships. There are currently 14,000 runners registered.

Organizer Golazo today announced the route for the first edition of the Leuven Marathon. The Marathon consists of three loops. You first walk the loop through the city center. 10 kilometers past the town hall and the university library. Then follows a 14 kilometer loop through the green Heverleebos. About ‘quality forest roads’.

You then return to the city. Walks the city loop again and then another loop along the Vaart of eight kilometers. The half marathon consists of the city loop and the loop along the Vaart. About the same course as during the European Championships. And the 10 kilometers simply go through the city. The feared Keizersberg is part of the course at all three distances. The height difference and the heat made the challenge that little bit greater last year.
