The city of León will experience this Saturday January 31, 2026 a morning (and part of the afternoon) marked by grassroots sports. The Municipal Sports Schools of León They have scheduled five calls that They will bring together nearly 600 boys and girls in different facilities, with activities designed to learn through play and reinforce values such as coexistence and respect.
The plan includes appointments chess, handball, artistic gymnastics, archery and volleyballwith participatory formats adapted by age. The day is part of the recreational-educational program that the Municipal Sports Schools of León maintained during the school year.

Artistic gymnastics: special training with apparatus
The Municipal Sports School of Artistic Gymnastics will develop a “special training with apparatus” of 10:00 a 14:00 in it FCAFD of the University of Leónwith the provision of about 90 boys and girls from different school centers.
The session is planned as a circuit through jump, bar, parallel bars and floorwith the aim of improving the sequence execution that demand strength, flexibility, agility and elegance.
Volleyball: “Bring an EDM friend”
The Municipal Volleyball Sports School will lead to Margarita Ramos Pavilion an activity designed to add companions: “Bring an EDM friend”from the 10:00with an estimated participation of about 250 people throughout the morning.
The teams will be formed with volleyball students along with a friend who practices another discipline of the Municipal Sports Schools of León. They will be played short matches by categorieswith the goal of sharing the sporting experience and reinforcing respect, trust and empathy.
Archery: Provincial Championship with free entry
In the afternoon, the Margarita Ramos Pavilion will host the Provincial Archery Championship from the 15:30with some 60 participants between school students and federated archers, divided by categories: schools, under 14s, cadet, junior, senior and veteran.
The reception will be at 15:30 and, after the warm-up, the competition will begin around 16:15. The format includes 2 series of 30 arrows (3×10). For older students, 18 metros on 80cm targets; in minor categories, the distance will be 12 u 8 metros on 122 cm diana. In addition, this year the new rhythm will be applied: 90 seconds to shoot 3 arrowsaccording to the reduction established by the federation.
In the case of EDM students, whoever adds more points at the end of the two series, with scores recorded on official sheets. The organization has confirmed that the entry will be freeto bring an official competition closer to the public.
Chess: “Practice with your family”
The Municipal Chess Sports School proposes a day of coexistence with families: “Practice with your family”of 10:00 a 14:00 in it large gymnasium of the Sports Palacecon about 120 participants between boys, girls and family members.
The dynamics are organized in groups of four: two minors and two adults. The objective is for the little ones to consolidate knowledge and for the family members to learn, through play, openings, defenses and endings.
Handball: 4×4 tournament to improve skills
In parallel, the Municipal Handball Sports School will celebrate a “4x4x3 Tournament” of 10:00 a 14:00 in it Saint Stephen Pavilioncon 100 boys and girls (young age category) from different schools.
Small fields will be created using basketball courts and it will be played with four playerswith similar rules. The focus will be on improve basic skillscoordinate movements and reinforce technical skills within the game.
